NFL: Bing, cut by Raiders, picked up by 49ers

Associated Press

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Safety Darnell Bing was claimed off waivers by the San Francisco 49ers today, a day after being waived by the Oakland Raiders.

Bing, a fourth-round pick out of Southern California in 2006, spent his rookie season on injured reserve with a neck injury.

He was cut loose by the Raiders this week because the team had an excess of safeties following the signings of free agents Donovin Darius, Colin Branch and B.J. Ward.
