Waianae shelter receives linen donation today

Advertiser Staff

Pai'olu Kai'aulu, the state's emergency homeless shelter in Waianae, today will become the recipient of 1,000 pieces of brand-new and gently used linen, compliments of the Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club.

The linens, including blankets and bedspreads, were replaced when the resort recently upgraded its bedding.

So it decided to donate the sheets and blankets to the shelter as part of the Marriott's Spirit To Serve Our Communities program, designed to foster goodwill in communities where Marriott does business.

The new shelter houses an estimated 200 of the coast's former beach residents.
