No tsunami threat after 6.9 quake in Philippines

A very strong earthquake rumbled across the seafloor about 920 miles south-southeast of Manila in the Philippines about 7:40 p.m. last night Hawai'i time.The temblor was assigned a magnitude of 6.9
According to information issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, the quake did not result in a Pacific-wide tsunami threat.
There were no reports of injury or damage following the quake, which happened in the Molucca Sea near Indonesia.
