Natalie Ai Kamauu, Genoa Keawe at aquarium Aug. 7

The Waikiki Aquarium's popular "Ke Kani O Ke Kai" summer concert series will end with finale performances by Natalie Ai Kamau'u and Auntie Genoa Keawe on Tuesday, August 7. The evening concert o the Aquarium lawn will also feature food from Hula Gril Waikiki.

Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Kamau'u started her singing career as a teenager, performing alongside her father, Howard Ai, in Halau Hula Olana.

The local singer and songwriter went on to win the coveted Miss Aloha Hula title, and later released her debut solo CD " 'E," with husband Iolani. Kamau'u continues to perform both locally and internationally, captivating audiences with her angelic voice.

Affectionately known as "Auntie Genoa," the legendary Hawaiian singer and recording artist was born in Kaka'ako. Her longestablished career started locally and grew internationally, with her sharing traditional Hawaiian music and culture through live performances and multiple recordings.

Recognized by her signature falsetto, Keawe's reputation as a talented and accomplished singer led to numerous awards include the Na Hoku Hanohano Sidney Grayson Award, Anthology Award, Female Vocalist Award, National Endowment for the Arts award, along with recognition from various private and public organizations.

Additionally, Keawe was inducted into the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame, and awarded an Honorary Degree from the University of Hawaii for her knowledge and contribution to Hawaiian music. Keawe is als founder and president of her own recording company, Genoa Keawe Records, Inc.

Concert-goers may bring personal low-lying beach chairs, and are encouraged to arrive early for optimal seating on the lawn. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with the concert beginning at 7 p.m. Aquarium galleries and exhibits will remain open throughout the evening.

Ke Kani O Ke Kai is sponsored by Outrigger Hotels and Resorts, Pepsi, Hawaii Dental Service, Pacific Beach Hotel, Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, Waikiki Beach Walk, Electric Pencil, Cox Radio and Accel Party Rentals. The concert is priced at $20 for adults, $10 for children aged 7 to 12, and is free for children 6 and under ($15/$7 for Friends of Waikiki Aquarium "FOWA" members). Food will be sold separately at a nominal fee. Due to space limitations, only the first 550 reservations will be accepted.
