Hoops camp set at Manoa Valley District Park Gym

The Sole Fundamentals Basketball Camp will be held Aug. 13 to 17 at the Manoa Valley District Park Gym.

The instructors will be current or past high school coaches or collegiate players.

There will be two sessions daily with kids in grades four to seven from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and grades eight through high school from 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

TOURNAMENT SET FOR WAIMANALO PARK

The Sand In Your Pants Beach Tournament, an Ultimate Frisbee event, will be held tomorrow at Waimanalo Bay Beach Park from 10 a.m.

The event is free and open to beginners and experienced players.

MAUI, HAWAI'I CLUBS TO SQUARE OFF SUNDAY

The Maui and Hawai'i polo clubs meet Sunday in the United States Polo Association Pacific Gold Cup, the culmination of the three-part interisland series at Mokule'ia Polo Fields.

Clear Sky will perform a postmatch concert. Gates open at 11 a.m., with the match set for 2 p.m.

MORE THAN 100 TEAMS TO COMPETE IN TOURNEY

More than 100 teams will participate in the 37th Annual Hawaiian Invitational Water Polo Tournament, Aug. 7 to 12, on O'ahu.

Teams from Hawai'i, the U.S. Mainland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada will play nearly 300 matches in nine divisions (men's open, 18-under, 16-under, 14-under, women's open, 18-under, 16-under, 14-under and mixed 12-under).

Championship matches will be played Aug. 12 at the Veterans' Memorial Aquatic Complex at Central O'ahu Regional Park.
