2 earthquakes strike off coasts of Japan, Tonga

Two substantial earthquakes have already been reported today in the Pacific Basin.A quake assigned a 5.0 magnitude rumbled across the ocean floor of the southern coast of Honshu, Japan, about 8:55 a.m. Japan Time.
Meanwhile, a 5.3-magnitude temblor was recorded about 100 miles west of Hihifo, Tonga, about 9:53 a.m. local time.
There have been no reports of injuries or damage resulting from either of the quakes.
