The Honolulu medical examiner's office today identified the 14-year-old boy who died Friday at The Queen's Medical Center from injuries suffered in a car crash on Kaua'i Thursday night as

Clarence Luczon of Kapa'a.

Luczon was driving a Honda sedan that veered off Koloa Road and crashed into a tree at 10:05 p.m. Thursday, according to Kaua'i County spokeswoman Mary Daubert.

Two other passengers — a 19-year-old California man and 16-year-old boy from Lihu'e — were taken to Wilcox Hospital with undisclosed injuries.

It was not immediately known if the car was stolen, Daubert said today.

The death is the fifth traffic fatality of the year and the second this month on Kaua'i.
