Advertiser Staff

A Kalihi couple was treated and released from Kaiser Hospital early this morning after both were attacked and stabbed by a mob of about 15 people.

A detective with the Criminal Investigation Division of the Honolulu Police Department said the incident occurred around 11:10 p.m. when the man and woman were returning to their home and saw a man smashing the window of their vehicle.

The husband yelled at the man to stop and was attacked by the mob of people, the detective said.

The wife tried to intervene and was slashed in the arm by a knife.

The husband suffered knife wounds to the head, back and hand. The suspects fled in three vehicles.

After the suspects fled, the couple drove to the hospital and reported the incident.

The suspects haven't been located or identified.
