Registered offender accused of sex attacks

Advertiser Staff

Prosecutors today charged a Wahiawa man with nine counts of sexual abuse involving two young children.

Orson Guy Kihaapiilani Wilcox, 53, made his initial appearance today at District Court and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday, which could be canceled by a likely indictment this week.

Wilcox, a registered sex offender, is being held in lieu of $75,000. He is charged with four counts of first-degree sex assault and five counts of third-degree sex assault which allegedly occurred between January and September of 2006.

According to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records, Wilcox was convicted of two counts of felony third-degree sex assault in December 2000 and sentenced to five years confinement on both counts to run concurrently.

The 2006 offenses were reported to police earlier this month.
