Woman, child struck in Waipahu crosswalk

A woman and child have been taken to Hawaii Medical Center West this morning with minor injuries following a report that they were hit in a crosswalk along Waipahu Street.

Initial information described the woman as 30 years old and the child as approximately 1 year old, said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city's emergency services department. The child's gender was not immediately available.

Paramedics were dispatched to 94-1161 Waipahu St. at 9:18 a.m., Cheplic said.
