Daniel Ho, Herb Ohta Jr.'s concert to benefit homeless

Award-winning recording and concert artists Daniel Ho and Herb Ohta Jr. will give a concert at 1 p.m. Aug. 4 at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Church, at 720 N. King St. The event will be a benefit for Family Promise, a transitional homeless project, and Habitat for Humanity, a program that enables the homeless and the needy to obtain permanent housing.

Ho is a noted producer, composer, guitarist and ukulele stylist who also has won Grammy Awards for 2006's "Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar, Volume 1," and for 2007's "Legends of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar — Live From Maui."

Ohta is a teacher, entertainer and producer who is a six-time Na Hoku Hanohano Award nominee and two-time Hawaii Music Award winner. He is a vanguard of the new generation of uke strummers.

Tickets are $15, available at the door; children under 12 are free.
