Police seeking men in knife attack on Kalihi couple

Advertiser Staff

A Kalihi couple was treated and released from Kaiser Hospital early this morning after being attacked and stabbed when they complained about someone smashing their car window with a rock.

The suspects, two unidentified men, were among a group of about 15 people who were hanging out and drinking in the area of 755 Umi St. at about 11:10 p.m. last night, police said. As the couple approached their car, they saw someone smashing the window of their vehicle, police said.

The husband yelled at the group and was attacked by the two men. Police said one of the men was carrying a knife, but it was not clear which one.

The wife tried to intervene and was slashed in the arm by a knife, police said.

The husband suffered knife wounds to the head, back and hand, and the suspects drove away in vehicles.

After the suspects fled, the couple drove to the hospital and reported the incident.

The suspects haven't been located or identified.
