HALE'IWA
Town meeting on homeless set

Advertiser Staff

The North Shore Neighborhood Board is looking for solutions to the homeless situation in its community and is sponsoring a meeting to consider options at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the John Kalili Surf Center, 66-167 Hale'iwa Road.

The meeting agenda includes speakers, a history of homelessness, resource contacts and solutions. The public is welcome.

Some 40 children and an unknown number of women are homeless on the North Shore and their safety is a concern of the board, said Carol Philips, a North Shore board member. But any solution should have the community's support, Philips said.
