Michelle Wie tees off early in Women's British Open

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu's Michelle Wie will tee off at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday Hawai'i time in the first round of the Weetabix Women's British Open.

Her second round will begin 1:15 a.m. Friday Hawai'i time.

Wie's playing partners will be Grace Park and Beth Daniel.

The 72-hole tournament is being played at the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland, with par being 73.

Last week in the Evian Masters in France, Wie finished second to last of the 72 players who made the cut.

In the second round, she shot 1-under 71, breaking a streak of 24 consecutive rounds in which she shot par or worse. The next day, she shot a 12-over 84 and followed that with a final-round 4-over 76.
