Firefighters snuff 2 small brushfires on Waianae Coast

Two small brushfires reported on the Wai'anae Coast this morning have been extinguished, Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Frank Johnson said.

Fire officials responded to a brushfire in Ma'ili shortly after 3:30 a.m. The fire near Pa'akea Road encompassed less than 1 acre.

The second fire, which was in Wai'anae at the intersection of Kane'aki and Koleali'ili'i streets, was extinguished about 10 minutes after it was reported at 4 a.m., Johnson said. It was also less than 1 acre in size.
