WAHIAWA
Annual burn at McCarthy Flats

Advertiser Staff

Army fire and safety specialists, along with federal agencies, will conduct an annual prescribed burn of McCarthy Flats, a 1,100-acre range complex training area north of Kolekole and Trimble roads at Schofield Barracks.

The days and times of the burn will depend on the weather but may start as early as today and last until Thursday. Hours of burning will be from approximately 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The prescribed burn is part of the Army in Hawai'i's ongoing plan to decrease wildfires and protect the range area.
