Search continues for fisherman near blowhole

Advertiser Staff

Rescuers from the U.S. Coast Guard and Honolulu Fire Department are continuing to search today for a 60-year-old fisherman.

He reportedly fell into the water yesterday morning in an area called Bamboo Ridge, near the blowhole next to Hanauma Bay.

The Coast Guard used a 110-foot cutter and helicopter to search through the night and will continue to search throughout the day.

The man is described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 135 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone who has information that may benefit the searchers should contact either the Coast Guard at 842-2600 or Fire Department at 911 with details.
