ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Mini massage

Advertiser Staff

Dancers have used tennis balls to relieve aching muscles for generations. Now there's t spheres for Origins, a mini version of the therapy, designed by licensed massage therapist Stephanie Whittier. Simply place the aromatherapy-infused balls between your body and a mat to press out pain, or roll them over any pains in your hand. They're especially effective on hands, feet, forearms and shoulders. Price: $38 for two 45mm massager balls or $22 for 27mm, plus a spray bottle of essential oil to keep them sweet smelling. Choose from "No Worries" (basil and eucalyptus) or "Peaceful Moments" (lavender). Available at Origins Ala Moana Center.

For about $6 a month (including shipping), www.monthlysocks.com will mail a new pair of men's dress socks to the door — or dorm — of the man of your choice. It's like a magazine subscription, only wearable. Subscriptions start at $20 for three pairs and up to $70 for 12 a year. It's a great gift for men who hate shopping. And, hey, no more excuses for puka socks.

"I don't believe we will see the end of it in my lifetime. It is still very raw. Ask Don Imus."
