Atkinson Drive work will go around the clock

Advertiser Staff

The Kapi'olani Boulevard water and sewer system Improvements project will increase its work hours on Atkinson Drive.

Beginning today, crews will start day work on Saturdays and will begin night work on Sunday. Work in the area is allowed 24 hours a day seven days a week, and will be conducted during the following hours:

· Day work – Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

· Night work – Sundays through Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Expect delays because of temporary lane closures. Through traffic will be allowed in both directions.

On May 9, work began on the installation of a new 12-inch water main system along Atkinson Drive. Crews began near the intersection of Ala Moana and will continue in the mauka direction toward Kapi'olani Boulevard.

Electronic message signboards are placed along Kapi'olani Boulevard and Atkinson Drive to provide motorists with traffic information. Motorists are advised to observe all construction traffic signs, use alternative routes when possible and drive with caution.
