2-year-old critical after accident

A 2-year-old Big Island boy was reported to be in critical condition last night after he was apparently run over by a reversing sports utility vehicle in the Kawailani area of Hilo.Hawai'i County Fire Department officials said two off-duty firefighters who live across from 665 Mala'o Street rushed to the boy's aid immediately after the 6:30 p.m. incident.
The boy, who suffered head injuries, was taken to Hilo Medical Center.
