Four Punahou wrestlers earn national honors

Four wrestlers from Punahou were named to the National High School Coaches Association All-Academic Team.

Recognized were seniors Joshua Plechaty, Kenneth White and Kara Takasaki, and junior Daniel Chow.

Takasaki and Chow won state titles this year with Takasaki winning the girls 140-pound division and Chow winning the boys 140. Plechaty was the runner-up at boys 145 and White was third at boys 152.

White had a 3.91 grade point average, Takasaki had a 3.88, Chow had a 3.62 and Plechaty had a 3.55.

A total of 89 wrestlers from 32 states were honored.
