Ohana Quake Outreach has created a board game for schoolchildren, ages 7-12, to help talk about the repercussions from natural and other disasters.

Called Quake Safe Place, the game aims to help children talk about their experiences and feelings while-having fun.

It addresses issues such as preparedness, emotions, spirituality, relationships and the child's own disaster experience.

Children can use the game in schools, after-school programs and summer camps.

"It facilitates a way for young people to share their feelings and process them," says Alice Bratton of Ohana Quake Outreach, which provides crisis and counseling services for reactions to earthquake disaster.
