POUHALA MARSH RESTORATION — The Hawai'i Nature Center is restoring Pouhala Marsh in Waipahu. Volunteers are needed to pull pickleweed and mangrove 8:30-11:30 a.m. June 16. AMERICORPS INTERNS — Maui Economic Opportunity is recruiting interns age 17 and older for Americorps' environmental program June 12-Aug. 3 on Maui, Moloka'i, Lana'i and Kaho'olawe. Work includes invasive species removal, resource protection and restoration, water-quality assessment and monk seal rescue. Interns receive a $2,025 allowance and $1,000 scholarship. KANE'OHE WETLAND PROJECT — Volunteers are needed Saturday to help the Sierra Club clear a wetland of mangrove to create habitat for endangered water birds at Marine Corps Base Hawai'i. KA IWI COAST CLEANUP — Join the Sierra Club 8-10:30 a.m. Sunday for a cleanup of the Ka Iwi coastline. Bring water, hat, sunscreen, closed-toe shoes; bags, gloves provided. Meet at the east restroom at Sandy Beach Park. Call 394-2898.
