In the greatest era of Konawaena girls basketball history, Jazzmin Awa-Williams was front and center of it all.

As a freshman, Jazzmin was a starting forward and All-State second-team selection as the Wildcats went unbeaten and won their first state championship and the first for a Big Island school since 1989.

As a sophomore, she earned All-State first-team honors and helped Konawaena return to the state title game, where the Wildcats lost a double-overtime thriller to Punahou.

As a junior she again made The Advertiser's All-State first team and led Konawaena to its third straight state semifinals.

And this past season, Jazzmin led the Wildcats to another undefeated season and their second state championship in four years.

Off the court, Jazzmin carried a 3.6 grade-point average and earned a partial scholarship to play basketball at the Division II University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, where she hopes to earn a degree in communications or broadcasting.
