Coming from one of Hawai'i's smallest high schools, Christian Academy's Ashley Medcalf still made one of the biggest impacts.

Ashley, a defender in soccer, led Pac-Five to the inaugural Division II state championship this past season and was the only Division II player named to the ILH all-star first team. She was named to The Advertiser's All-State second team and will play for nationally ranked Rutgers University, where she plans to study pre-medicine.

In basketball, Ashley was one of the state's top scorers and an ILH Division II all-star first-team selection in 2006. She also was one of 12 players statewide selected to compete in a prestigious offseason tournament in Santa Barbara, Calif.

In volleyball, Ashley was named to the ILH Division II all-star second team.

Christian Academy, located near Red Hill, has an average of only 21 students per grade. In addition to being Christian Academy's first Hall of Honor inductee, Ashley was student body vice president, editor of the school newspaper and homecoming committee chairman.
