Nesha Ann Kimitete, a former Big Island Interscholastic Federation all-star for Konawaena, will join the University of Hawai'i-Hilo women's basketball team next season.

Kimitete, who helped the Wildcats win the state championship in 2004, is a 5-foot-3 point guard from College of Canyons (Calif.), where she was an all-conference performer.

Kimitete graduated in 2005 from Konawaena, where she also was an all-league softball player.

Hilo also announced the signing of Kayce Kirihara, a 5-6 guard from Franklin High in Seattle, Wash.

Kirihara was a four-year starter and two-time all-county selection. She also lettered in volleyball.
