Corpus Christie procession rolls downtown this weekend

Advertiser Staff

A noon-day Corpus Christi procession will take place this weekend from the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace downtown.

After 10:30 a.m. Mass Sunday by Bishop Larry Silva in the co-cathedral, hundreds are expected to follow as he carries the Eucharist in a special receptacle called a monstrance to the cathedral, where there will be a benediction and adoration at 1 p.m. There will be singing of hymns, candles, incense; also look for the colorful Knights of Columbus and a eucharistic canopy carried by four people.
