Laumaka escapee surrenders to police

Advertiser Staff Writer

A man facing escape charges for failing to return to the Laumaka Work Furlough facility Saturday was sent today to the O'ahu Community Correctional Center.

William Andrew Huie, 40, flagged down a police officer Sunday shortly before 4 p.m. to turn himself in. Huie has sseven prior convictions according to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records.
