Views on park fee hike sought

Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park is seeking public comment on proposed new entrance fees to provide more money for park facilities.

Fee increases proposed for Jan. 1 would boost the fee from $10 to $20 for a private vehicle pass. The cost of a Hawai'i Tri-Park Pass, which allows a cardholder to enter Hawai'i Volcanoes, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau, and Haleakala national parks for a year would increase from $25 to $30.

Send comments on the proposed new fees to Superintendent, Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, P.O. Box 52, Hawai'i National Park, HI 96718, or e-mail them to HAVO_Superintendent@nps.gov.
