HANALEI SCHOOL CEREMONY JUNE 22

Due to overwhelming community interest, dedication of the new playground at Hanalei Elementary School has been rescheduled to June 22.

The dedication had been scheduled for today.

But the school and the planning committee decided to reschedule the ceremony so the community could participate.

Actor Pierce Brosnan and his wife, Keely, donated $100,000 to the nonprofit organization Hawaii 3R's in March to replace the playground. Hawaii 3R's also provided a grant of $47,800 toward the project.

The June 22 celebration will be from 4 to 7 p.m. and will include the blessing of the playground as well as a lu'au and entertainment.
