Four boys were injured today when they were struck by one of two cars involved in a collision at the intersection of Nu'uanu Avenue and North Kukui Street.

The incident was reported to police at 4:19 p.m. and forced the closure of downtown-bound lanes on Nu'uanu Avenue for about 45 minutes.

Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said one youth, 16, was taken to Straub Hospital & Clinic in stable condition while three others went to Kapi'olani Medical Center, including an 11-year-old in serious condition.

The other boys, ages 10 and 8, were in stable condition.

The boys were struck by a car that continued rolling following the collision.

The two drivers escaped major injuries.
