New walking tour to focus on Capitol District

Well-known local historian Nanette N. Napoleon will give a two-hour Capitol District walking tour at 10 a.m. every second Saturday of the month beginning this week.

The tour starts and ends at Mission Houses Museum & Cemetery and includes Kawaiahao, the Kamehameha statue, Iolani Palace, Washington Place.

Napoleon is a freelance researcher, writer and director of The Cemetery Research Project, founded in 1985. As the state's leading authority on historic graveyards, her cemetery directories and book, "O'ahu Cemetery Burial Grounds & Historic Sites" are important sources of information for historians and genealogists.
