Young people to discuss civic engagement

Advertiser Staff

Young people interested in civic participation will gather for the third annual Envision Hawai'i conference June 16 at Windward Community College.

Organized by people in their 20s and 30s, the group promotes community involvement and serves as a forum for discussions on public policy issues.

The theme of the conference this year is "Be the Foundation for the Future." The featured speaker is William Kenoi, executive assistant to Big Island Mayor Harry Kim.

"As young citizens, we're very aware that the decisions we make today are going to affect us the most down the road," Nalani Fujimori, an organizer of the conference, said in a statement.
