Woman found dead in Halawa Heights home identified

Advertiser Staff

The city Department of the Medical Examiner has identified Lisa Weidman, 55, as the woman who last Wednesday was found dead in her home in Halawa Heights.

Police have charged Weidman's 25-year-old daughter, Carol Weidman, with second-degree murder in connection with her mother's death.

A preliminary hearing is set for tomorrow to determine if there is enough evidence in the case to turn Carol Weidman over to Circuit Court to stand trial on the murder charge.

Carol Weidman allegedly confessed to stabbing and strangling her mother, telling a Pearl City police officer that she felt she had to kill her mother before her mother killed her.
