Whale sanctuary advisory council plans meeting

The advisory council for the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary will have a public meeting June 13 at the Honolulu International Airport.

The sanctuary is managed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the state Department of Land and Natural Resources.

People can mail in testimony before the meeting or make statements during the public-forum portion of the meeting. Testimony can be mailed to NOAA at 6600 Kalaniana'ole Highway, Suite 301, Honolulu, 96825, faxed to 397-2650 or e-mailed to mary.grady@noaa.gov.

The meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the airport's inter-island terminal conference center.
