Nakamura to lead new Member Business Lending office

Credit union industry veteran Baron Nakamura will head up the new Hawai'i office of Member Business Lending LLC, a provider of small business loans.

MBL provides credit union-based loans originated by the Small Business Administration.

"The opening of this new regional office is an important milestone in MBL's plan to quickly expand into markets throughout the U.S., and thereby expand opportunities for the nation's underserved small businesses," said Kent Moon, president and chief executive officer of MBL.

Nakamura has extensive experience in the financial services industry, having held senior positions with Pearl Harbor Federal Credit Union, University of Hawaii Federal Credit Union and, most recently, Honolulu Federal Credit Union. He also worked for Central Pacific Bank and Bank of Hawaii, as well as a other finance and savings & loan institutions in Hawaii.
