Net sex suspect to be arraigned Thursday

A 19-year-old Pearl City Uplands man charged with two counts of soliciting minors for sex on the Internet will be arraigned Thursday before Circuit Judge Derrick H.M. Chan.

Thomas A. Puckett's bail is $40,000.

Puckett is the fifth man charged this year on O'ahu with first-degree electronic enticement of a child for trying to lure minors for sex online.

The Hawai'i Internet Crimes Against Children task force has been involved in all the arrests.

Puckett was arrested May 29 at 10:15 a.m. when he showed up at Manoa Marketplace to meet two 13-year-old girls he had agreed to pick up and take to a hotel room for sex.

The meeting had been set up by investigators posing as the girls in an online chat room.
