Police Beat: Man arrested after wife alleges sex assault

A 27-year-old man who lives on the Aliamanu Military Reservation was arrested by Honolulu police officers yesterday after his 23-year-old wife accused him of sexually assaulting her between 6:30-7 p.m. last night.

The husband was arrested at a building on Fort Shafter on suspicion of second-degree sexual assault.

MAN DRIVING STOLEN CAR ARRESTED IN KANE'OHE

A 31-year-old Haiku Valley man was arrested last night on suspicion of driving a car that was stolen from an 82-year-old man.

A patrol officer spotted a car with an expired safety check about 11:05 p.m. in Kane'ohe and ordered the driver to pull over, police said.

They said the officer ran a check on the car's vehicle identification number and learned it had been reported stolen on May 28.

The man behind the wheel was then arrested on suspicion of unlawful control of a vehicle.
