Drag queen show set for June 16

The 24th Annual Universal ShowQueen Pageant, a glam event where boys will be clad as girls, will be held at 6:30 p.m. June 16 at the Kalakaua Ballroom of the Hawaii Convention Center.Doors open at 5 p.m. for no-host cocktail service.
The competition, dubbed as "the ultimate in boy beautiful," features contestants in four categories: couture cocktail, evening gown, talen and Las Vegas showgirl costume. More than $10,000 in prizes will be awarded.
Tickets are $60, $50 and $40 and the show already is a near-sellout. Check for available seating at Diamond Head Video at 943-6066, Jason Kina at 372-9350 or Desiree St. Tropez at 927-2327.
