CHINATOWN
Crashing car injures 4 boys

Advertiser Staff

Four boys were injured yesterday when they were struck by one of two cars involved in a collision at the intersection of Nu'uanu Avenue and North Kukui Street.

The 4:19 p.m. incident prompted the closure of downtown-bound lanes on Nu'uanu Avenue for about 45 minutes.

The boys were struck by a car that continued rolling following the collision.

Emergency Medical Services spokesman Bryan Cheplic said one boy, 16, was taken to Straub Hospital & Clinic in stable condition and the three others went to Kapi'olani Medical Center, including an 11-year-old in serious condition. The other boys, ages 10 and 8, were in stable condition.
