Advertiser Staff

One of two Kalihi men struck by a car late Monday night while they were running on Moanalua Freeway died yesterday.

The man, 23, died at The Queen's Medical Center.

A second man, 20, remained in critical condition at Queen's.

Police traffic investigation Sgt. Alan Vegas said the men got out of a vehicle stopped on the freeway about 11:30 p.m. after an argument took place in the vehicle.

The men were running north on the freeway's eastbound lanes when they were struck by a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by a 66-year-old Pearl City man, Vegas said.

The accident occurred 233 feet west of the Ahua Street overpass.
