Volunteer deadline today for beach cleanup tomorrow

A beach cleanup day is slated for tomorrow from 3 to 5 p.m. at Kawaiku'i Beach Park.Volunteers need to register today by calling Suzanne Dean (393-2168). More information can be found at www.b-e-a-c-h.org.
Volunteers will be removing invasive algae and litter from the shoreline. The event is in celebration of World Ocean Day. The Beach Environmental Awareness Campaign Hawai'i (B.E.A.C.H.) and Malama Maunalua are organizing the event.
Participants should wear sturdy shoes (tabis, reef walkers, tennis shoes) and bring a rake, bucket, sunscreen and hat.
