Got jokes? BayFest includes comedy competition

Loren Moreno
Advertiser Staff Writer

Think you have what it takes to be the next Augie T or Stan Egi?

This year's Lex Brodie's BayFest at Marine Corps Base Hawai'i could be your chance to perform in front of a crowd of thousands. The Sharkey's Comedy Club Open Mic Competition will be held on July 1 on the BayFest main stage prior to the performance of country legend Alan Jackson.

Sharkey's Comedy Club is now hosting weekly competition preliminaries at its 'Aiea location. Twenty-five finalists will be chosen for a chance to duke it out at BayFest for cash and prizes, including a three-hour comedy class.

Want to find out if your routine has what it takes? Contact Sharkey's Comedy Club at 531-HAHA (4242).

Or if you're just in a mood to laugh, visit http://www.bayfesthawaii.com for tickets. BayFest is scheduled for June 29 to July 1 and is open to the public.
