Advertiser Staff

A 6-year-old boy was seriously injured this morning when he was hit by a school bus while he was walking on a sidewalk in Foster Village with two other children.

Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city Emergency Services Department, said that according to initial reports from the scene, the school bus tire blew out causing the driver to lose control and run up on the sidewalk near Bougainville and Haloa drives.

The accident was reported about 11:20 a.m.

The boy was determined to be in serious condition following the accident and was taken to The Queen's Medical Center.

No other injuries were reported, Cheplic said.
