LIHU'E
Kamehameha parade June 16

Advertiser Staff

Kaua'i's annual Kamehameha Day Parade through Lihu'e will start at 10 a.m. June 16.

The parade will begin at Vidinha Stadium on Ho'olako Street, progress to the Rice Street intersection, and run up Rice Street to the Historic County Building on 'Eiwa Street.

Police will close off the streets along the route from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., which could affect motorists trying to leave parking lots whose only exit is onto the parade route.

The county is urging motorists to seek alternate routes that morning.

For more information on the road closures, call the mayor's office at 241-6300.
