Kamehameha grad Ruth goes to Padres in 22nd round

Keoni Ruth, a second baseman at Concordia (Calif.), was drafted in the 22nd round by the San Diego Padres. He was the 687th overall pick.Ruth, 22, completed his eligibility at NAIA Concordia after three seasons at San Diego. He batted .339 with 16 doubles, one triple, three home runs and 29 RBIs playing second base.
He was first drafted in the 17th round by Kansas City out of Kamehameha in 2003. He was picked again in the 17th round last year by the Chicago Cubs.
