Harrington drafted by Diamondbacks in 23rd round

University of Hawai'i pitcher Ian Harrington was picked in the 23rd round by the Arizona Diamondbacks in today's MLB first-year player draft. He was the 703rd overall player taken.

Harrington, 22, graduated last month, completing his eligibility in the process. The 6-0, 190-pound left-hander went 7-8 with a 4.35 earned run average this past season.

He came to UH from Bellevue (Wash.) JC. He was drafted in the 37th round by Baltimore after his first season at Bellevue.
