Historian to lead walking tour of Capitol District

Local historian Nanette N. Napoleon will give a two-hour Capitol District walking tour at 10 a.m. every second Saturday of the month beginning today.

The tour starts and ends at Mission Houses Museum and Cemetery and includes Kawaiaha'o, the Kamehameha statue, 'Iolani Palace and Washington Place.

Napoleon is a freelance researcher, writer and director of The Cemetery Research Project, founded in 1985. As the state's leading authority on historic graveyards, her cemetery directories and book, "Oahu Cemetery - Burial Ground & Historic Site," are valuable sources of information for historians and genealogists.
