Old pro wrestling photos to be displayed

By Rod Ohira

A Maui man hopes to exhibit 200 action and candid photos from the professional wrestling heyday at the old Civic Auditorium and Blaisdell Center arena at the upcoming Hawaii All-Collectibles Show July 20-21.

Bill Atkinson isn't selling anything at the show but will set up an exhibit of his collection. Atkinson also has taped locker-room interviews from Nov. 22, 1967, to June 28, 1968, that feature Curtis "Da Bull" Iaukea, Ripper Collins, Johnny Barend, Jim Hady, the Missing Link and many others who became local favorites.

The All-Collectible Show is at Blaisdell Exhibition Hall from 4 to 9 p.m. July 20 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 21.

Admission is $4 per person and $2 for children ages 7 to 11.

Information on the show is available from show@ukulele.com.
