More sun than rain expected over the next few days

A high pressure area to the northeast of the state will keep the trade winds on the light to moderate side into the start of the new work week, according to the National Weather Service.

Windward areas will likely see a few night and morning trade showers with clearing skies by the afternoon, forecasters said.

Most leeward areas will have plenty of sunshine through the next several days.

Trade wind showers will increase, mainly for windward and mauka areas, Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Today, mostly sunny. Isolated showers this afternoon. Highs 78 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.

Tonight, partly cloudy. Lows 68 to 77. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph.

Monday, mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 78 to 88. East winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 20 percent.
